What is The Q?

The Q is Quinsigamond Community College's secure website or portal. Think of it as the gateway to the college; it's the one stop which allows current students and faculty the ability to access their personal college information twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Q: How do I get access to The Q?
Enter your Username and Password at the top of the page and then select Login.
Note: Your password is case sensitive. Please enter your password exactly as it appears on your letter. For example, if your password is: “PatsFan1”, entering “patsfan1” will not work.

Questions about your Password

Q: I don’t remember my username and password.  How can I get this information?
Your username and password information was sent to you prior to the start of your first semester here at QCC. If you don’t have your login information, contact the Registrar’s Office at 508-854-4257, or stop by Room 152A (Administration Building) from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. You must present some form of photo identification, preferably your QCC student id card or driver’s license. Please note that the Registrar’s Office will not release this information over the telephone.
If it is after the hours listed, contact the QCC Help Desk Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. through 6:00 P.M at 508-854-4427 or email help. Give them your name, your student id number, a phone number or email address where you can be reached and mention that you need your password for The Q.

Be sure to keep your portal password in a safe place and don’t share it with anyone.
Q: How do I change my portal password?
You can change your password for The Q by first logging in and selecting the Personal Info link next to your name at the top of the page, then selecting the Password link. Enter your current password in the “Old Password” field and your new password in the two fields listed as “New Password” and “Confirm Password”. Then hit the Submit button.
When changing your password, the following rules apply:

  • Use only letters (upper and/or lower case) and numbers.
  • Use no more than eight (8) characters total.

    Note: When changing your password, be aware that it is case sensitive. For example, if you entered: “Books75” as your new password, do not enter “books75”, as it will not work.

    Q: How do I get my email?
    When you registered at QCC you were assigned an email account.  To get started with QCC's email system, choose one of the following options:

    Q: Can I access my QCC email from The Q?
     The Q can automatically sign you into your QCC email account.  To do this:
    • Expand My Pages from the left sidebar.
    • Select "Message Center"
    • Move the mouse over "Manage", then select "Manage Email Accounts"
    • Select Add a New Account
    • Using Communigate as the "Provider", enter your username and password (twice) for your QCC email account.  Your username is the same for The Q, but your password may be different.
    • Hit [Add]
    • Select the radio button next to the account you just added.
    • Hit [Save]
    To now log into QCC email, move the mouse over "Manage", then select "Sign on to Email".  It will automatically log you into your QCC email account.

    General Questions

    Q: I'm registered for the Spring semester.  Why can't I see my Spring courses?
    A:  To view your Spring courses, login and select My Academics.  From the dropdown, select Future Courses.  When the semester begins, you will be able to use the Quick Links section on the left after you login.
    Q: Can I view my personal information?
    Yes.  After you log in, select the Personal Info link at the top next to your name, then select the Biographical Info link. The information that is displayed includes your name, address and telephone number, as well as your marital status, date of birth and college email address.
    To change your address, select the pencil icon next to Name and Address.  Update your address and select the Submit button at the bottom of the page.  Your changes will be updated within a few days.


    Q: Who do I contact if I need help?
    If you need help, call the QCC Help Desk at 508 854-4427 or email them at Give them your name, your phone number or email address, your id number and a brief description of your problem. Mention that you have a portal problem. Do not send your password.
    The QCC Help Desk is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. through 7 p.m.
